Ever wonder how some people look years younger than they really are. It seems as if they stumble across the fountain of youth and every year is kinder and kinder to them. I used to tell people it was because I didn't stress, but for the people who really knew me they'd call me a damn liar LMAO. in all actuality over time I learned how to beat the elements that wage war on not just the mind but also the flesh and let me tell you, with factors such as pollutants in the air, hard water full of unnecessary chemicals, Global Warming (Yes, its real get over it), and good ole fashion time itself, it is a battle. But, time is not the only enemy to the health of your skin.

"It's not the temperature alone that causes these skin woes, either. Shari Marchbein, a dermatologist and clinical assistant professor of dermatology at New York University School of Medicine, says it's the sudden switch in weather, coupled with subsequent lifestyle changes people make as it gets cooler, such as taking hot showers and using central heat in homes, that contributes to the aforementioned dryness and inflammation associated with this transitional period."  Allure.

Dr. Marchbein, in that same article goes on to give tips to protecting your skin during these transitional periods. Starting with limiting the amount of time you are in contact with hot water, which may seem weird, but oxymoron-based, hot water dehydrates you. Which is why you avoid Hot Chocolate during the summer.

So, how do you compensate for that time lost under running water? You supply yourself with the cleaning agents that are design for this battle. Moisturizing, Softening, Long-Lasting, and Firming soap that will restore, and not damage, your skin cells. Soaps with Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver, Olive Oil & Green Tea, Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut (No this is not coffee LOL), Mango Butter Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter infused together. Natural Soaps have been helping to protect skin from the ancient hot sun, and they still hold their weight today

Along with natural soaps, Essential oils produced from the fruits of the earth can aide in keeping the skin moist and tender while strengthening the cells to not only withstand the sun, but to thrive off of it. Babassu oil gives your skin protection, soothing, softening, moisturizing, and penetrates the skin quickly without leaving an oily residue. It's skin nourishing properties aid dry, itchy skin, oily skin, eczema and more.

"Put simply: The skin likes consistency, so when factors, like weather, change on a dime, it's like a shock to the system. 'Rapid fluctuations in weather can take its toll on our skin as it adjusts to the new environment,' explains New York City-based dermatologist Joshua Zeichner. 'For example, as we shift from summer to fall, temperature and humidity will drop quickly, so the skin will have to work harder to maintain adequate hydration as cold weather and wind start to kick in.'
Zeichner says this can lead to cracks in the outer skin layer, loss of hydration, and inflammation — all of which can seriously impact the overall state of your skin health.
Dermatologist and founder of SmarterSkin Dermatology, Sejal Shah, adds that these symptoms occur because the skin barrier becomes disrupted during this period, making it more susceptible to inflammation and irritation." Allure.

Using the Babassu Oil by infusing it with your lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, or by applying straight to the skin, you can create a protective barrier over your skin that will help fight off ultraviolet rays, heat and other skin irritants. So make sure you stock up this fall, AND PREPARE (your skin) FOR WINTER IS APPROACHING.
